Location
Located on the Anatolian shore of the Bosphorus, the Üsküdar district is a vast and thickly populated region. Üsküdar district has well developed communities and is a home to many retired people. Residents travel to the European part of the district mainly for work or school. During office hours, the shoreline has a common view where people are seen rushing from ferryboats and motorboats towards buses and minivans. The district also gets the flavour of a seaside place, where chirping of seagulls mingles with the sound of motorboats and foghorns making it one of the finest views of the city. The shopping district at the place is located behind the ferry dock with lots of restaurants and major Ottoman mosques. There are few places for entertainment and leisure activities for youths due to the presence of less number of cafes, movie theatres and billiard halls.
